Greetings Safety Pros-
I am excited to share that I am your new Greater Chicago Chapter President. Mariana Lever, who was to succeed Past President Ryan Cole, has actualized a major career goal and accepted a position with OSHA in Washington State. Please join the Greater Chicago Chapter board in wishing her continued success in professional safety; our Chapter’s loss in a dedicated member and established leader is Greater Seattle/Puget Sound Chapter’s gain!
Though I have succeeded to the presidency a year earlier than anticipated, I intend to deliver the same caliber of service and attention to you that Mariana had planned for this year. Furthermore, due to the accelerated succession, a Vice President position is vacant. For those of you looking to influence and grow the Chicago ASSP and our local safety community, I encourage you to contact myself or any of the executive members listed on our website about how you can make your impact today.
Please join us next week at our monthly Chapter meeting where we are hosting a pair of technical speakers from Safe-T-Sense who will be sharing knowledge on how you can get the most from your organization’s machine guarding strategies. Afterwards, our peers at the Chicago Risk & Insurance Management Society have invited ASSP members to engage in a free panel on Wrigley Field sports and entertainment risk management at the Cubs Admin offices. For more details check out the Upcoming Events section of this newsletter.
I hope you all were able to reset/recharge after a deserving Labor Day weekend and I look forward to working with you over the following year to further develop our community of safety professionals!
Stay safe, Eric Dangoy, MPH, ASP
