PRESIDENT'S LETTER
Greetings Eric!
I have a lot to share today but first, how was your Halloween? Here's hoping you had a pleasant one with the weather finally normalizing for this time of year. Due to 'Chicago weather' of recently past Halloweens, my spouse and I have always been left with a surplus of sweets--but not this time!

As I mature (ironic, I know, given my choice of profile pic for this President's Letter), I realize having a surplus of anything is reason to feel blessed. As the grand holiday season begins, I invite you to give your surplus time to this year's Standdown for Homeless Veterans on November 16th with us. The Winter Standdown is a Department of Veterans Affairs initiative held in select cities where we can help distribute meals and sundries to homeless and/or disabled veterans. In spite of the short notice, I hope you can join us! If you'd like to learn more and to register, visit the link below.

Whether or not this sort of engagement appeals to you as an ASSP Chicago member, please let us know how we can serve YOU better in a 5-minute survey linked below. As if you need further incentivizing, if you complete this survey before November 14th, you will be entered into a drawing for 1 of 3 $25 Amazon gift cards!

Lastly, as promised, we have been hard at work delivering regular content and I am proud to announce that our Historical Newsletter E-Archive is now open! While older newsletters are still being curated, you can peruse Chapter newsletters from 1979 and, soon, from as early as 1956! Have a wonderful holiday season and please continue to look for regular updates on our website and social media (links below)!
