PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Hello Safety Pros,

The winds of autumn are being felt throughout much of the country. A reminder to prepare for winter, natural disasters and the impact of COVID-19 during this season as recommended by the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/winter/index.html)

The change of seasons feels predictable and at the same time unprecedented. COVID-19 continues to impact our families, friends, workforce and the world. National and global unrest are intertwined with the pandemic, which brings additional uncertainty.

Please know that I, among others, understand your concerns and emphasize with you during this very difficult time. We keep hearing that "we're in this together," and indeed, we are. How we respond to the situation is very much within our control.

One of the keynote speakers at a recent ASSP leadership conference had a quote we can put into practice: “You cannot change the circumstance, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself that is something you have charge of." -  Jim Rohn

Stay positive, stay safe, stay warm - my thoughts are with you this fall.

stay safe,
Carmen Julia Castellon, ASP
