     April 8, 2021
     5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Chicago Local Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the Greater Chicago Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals, and the Great Lakes Center of Occupational Health and Safety at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites all professional members to join us for a virtual event that honors and supports current students at local universities whose educational focus is IH, Safety, or related environmental health sciences.

We will also invite a speaker from AIHA National to provide a brief update on current initiatives.

All currently enrolled OSH/IH/EH students welcome but must provide an abstract to ASSP/AIHA Chicago Student Sections Advisor, Salvatore Cali (scali@uic.edu) by April 1 if they intend to present their research or projects at this event.  Presenters will be limited to the first 9 students who provide this intent, due to time constraints.  Presentations are limited to 10 minutes and questions will be limited to 5 minutes.

Attendees will be provided an opportunity to vote on the best 3 presentations.  The top 3 presenters will receive a gift card for $150, $100, and $50, respectively. These gifts are made possible due to a generous contribution from Chubb Global Risk Advisors, Chicago office (www.chubb.com/CGRA)

Photo Contest:

In addition, the event organizers will award a $100 gift card to any attendee for the best photograph that visually represents their own or another person’s adjustment to working during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Location:

Zoom – Link to be provided to registrants prior to event

Cost:

None; in lieu of a fee, the Chicago Section suggests a donation of $10 minimum to demonstrate AIHA’s commitment to support the community.  Many of us are able to continue our work through virtual communications, but many other persons in our communities are less fortunate.
