3 Key responsibilities of your job
I manage our regulatory required programs, such as certification programs, risk reduction programs, and incident reporting programs. I am also the main point of contact between CN and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and will coordinate any formal requests made to CN. I represent CN in settlement conferences with the FRA regarding civil penalties and violations that we may have received. I also will interpret the federal regulations for our operating functions and ensure that our operations are within the regulations. My team also consists of our Operating Practices department which includes subject matter experts in operating rules. The Operating Practices department maintains and updates our rulebooks and other operating manual.
What or Who inspires you
I have had family members that have suffered from workplace injuries and exposures. My stepfather passed away because of lung issues that he suffered simply because he went to work everyday and worked in a toxic environment. I have seen, first hand, the ramifications of workplace injuries on employees and the how deeply those injuries affect the employee’s family. I firmly believe that the reward for going to work, and doing your job should not be a life threatening injury or illness.

My most meaningful professional achievement thus far, is implementing a systemwide process to assess and analyze our safety culture.

My career aspiration is to continue to grow in my profession and help build and promote those around me.

I ride in a charity motorcycle riding club in Northwest Indiana. I also enjoy watching live sports, traveling, and going to concerts. I prefer to spend my time outside as much as possible.
