Key responsibilities of your job

• Oversight of the FCL Safety Department and its efforts to ensure all workers go home in the same condition they arrived to work in.
• Managing the safety information contained within pre-qualifications, both for new trade partners looking to work with us, and for clients that are new to FCL.
• Ensuring all projects are receiving the attention they need from the Safety Department, whether that be for kick-off meetings, pre-construction planning, or site safety inspections.

What or Who inspires you

I’m inspired by people that help move safety efforts forward in their respective industries. It’s challenging work that, at times, has little reward!

Most Meaningful Professional Achievement

8 years ago a coworker of mine experienced cardiac arrest while in our office. Other coworkers that were with him at the time rushed to get me, as I am “the safety guy”. Thankfully, I had recently renewed my CPR/AED training with the National Safety Council and was able to begin CPR immediately, and kept doing so until EMS arrived. EMS continued CPR all the way to the hospital where they were, after 90 minutes, able to get a pulse back. After surgery, he survived and is still kicking to this day!

Future Career Goal or Aspiration

My goal is to continue improving the efforts of the Safety Department at my company, and to spread that culture to as many of our trade partners and clients as possible!

Go-to Comfort Food

That’s a tough one, as I love both cooking and trying new restaurants. I am a sucker for the burger from The Loyalist, though, so let’s go with that.

Hobbies/Enjoy Doing Outside of Work

First and foremost, I love spending time with my fiancée, Grace, and our dog, Bandit. Otherwise, I am an avid concert-goer, I like to cook, spend time with friends, read, play video games, and have also been trying to visit as many National Parks as possible.

TV series: Severance (if you haven’t watched it, what are you doing?). Book: I’ll give an author – Brandon Sanderson, if you’re into nerdy fiction type stuff.
