Beyond Basic Lockout/Tagout: Navigating the Standard and Its Gray Areas

Lockout/tagout can seem straightforward until you encounter servicing exceptions, alternative protective measures, construction activities, or equipment and tasks that don’t fit neatly into the standard.

This session goes beyond traditional lockout/tagout training to explore the regulatory nuances of energy control in both construction and manufacturing environments.

We’ll take a closer look at OSHA’s standards, enforcement guidance, common gray areas, and real-world case studies to better understand how lockout/tagout requirements are interpreted and applied in practice.
