Join the ASSP Greater Chicago Chapter for an informative and timely presentation exploring the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), as amended by the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act. Learn how the EPA evaluates the safety of existing chemicals and the potential implications for occupational exposure assessments.
The presentation will:

Review of EPA TSCA Risk Assessments for existing chemicals.

How does the EPA address unreasonable risk of injury to human health.

Discussion of EPA proposed existing chemical exposure limit (ECEL) and workplace chemical protection program (WCPP).
FEATURED SPEAKER
Dr. Kevin Aikman earned his Ph.D. in Plant Biology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1992. He became a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) in 1998 and was recognized as an AIHA Fellow in 2014. Over his 30-year career, Dr. Aikman has performed numerous occupational exposure assessments in both general industry and construction. He is an active member of the AIHA Government Relations Committee, which reviews and comments on proposed federal regulations.
At Ramboll, he provides technical oversight and leadership across multiple disciplines including industrial hygiene, hazardous building materials, indoor environmental quality, disaster response, water quality, and expert litigation services.
